Letter from Threemile Canyon Farms Dear Stakeholder, Threemile Canyon Farms has a shared vision that guides all of our actions: to produce healthy, high quality food products and bring them to market in ways that earn the trust of our customers, neighbors and employees. From our beginning seven years ago, we challenged ourselves to continuously improve our agricultural practices: to employ sustainable farming techniques; to choose the best from science and nature; and to treat land, workers, animals, community and customers with respect. Ten months ago, we initiated a Corporate Social Responsibility ["CSR"] process, to help us refine our vision and values, and to translate those values into a defined set of practices and measurements. The result of this CSR work provides our team with a shared platform to evaluate our day-to-day operating decisions, our long-term strategies and the downstream consequences of our actions. In other words, CSR forces us to convert our good intentions into intentional good actions and to be held accountable by our customers, our employees, our communities and other interested parties. CSR will continue to be central to who we are as a company and essential to the way we create economic, environmental and social value. Each year, at Threemile Canyon Farms we will continue to produce high-quality potatoes, organic produce and milk without growth hormones. We will protect sensitive wildlife habitat, preserve precious water and promote animal welfare. We'll pay good wages, listen to our diverse employees, provide training and promote a safe, bilingual workplace. And just as importantly, each year our CSR Report will measure how we are meeting expectations in ethical and sustainable business practices. We are proud of the work we have done and aware of the challenges to improve in 2006 and beyond. It is in that spirit that this CSR Report is presented. We are committed to earning and keeping your trust. After reviewing our 2005 CSR Performance Report, we invite you to join in the discussion of how we innovate and continuously improve. Thank you for your interest. Threemile Canyon Farms PDF version of Corporate Social Resposibility Report Continue reading the 2005 CSR Report |
